Course Description: This presentation will help attendees understand the difference between professional burnout and depression. The specific characteristics of burnout as a special type of work- related stress will be discussed. The typical characteristics of depression will also be presented. The distinction between professional burnout and depression will be explained. Burnout and depression as they relate to Nursing Home Administrators, nurses, physicians and social workers will be presented. Participants will be introduced to various treatment methods for both depression and burnout.
